2010 Second Annual Utica U-12s Soccer Tournament

The second annual Fall Utica U12s tournament was held October 16, 2010 at Proctor Park in Utica. It was a bit cold and blustery for the boys division in the morning, but turned into a beautiful, though cool, Fall day for the girls division in the afternoon.

The home made chicken soup,  hot dogs, hamburgers, hot chocolate and other treats at the concession stand kept everyone going. Special thanks to all of the Utica volunteers who helped make the tournament a great success.

Special thanks to Bruce Broat, Utica RC, who started and is the main force behind the Utica U10s and U12s Fall Tournament.

Five boys teams played in the morning and six girls teams played in the afternoon. Each division played a round robin format with 6 points for a win, 3 points for a tie, and 0 points for a loss.  At the end of the rounds, teams were placed according to total points, with head-to-head results, goals scored, and goals given up as tie breakers.

Note: Utica-1 and Rome tied for first place on points. Their head-to-head result was also a tie. Based on goals scored, Utica 1 was awarded first place and Rome was awarded second place.
